Billionaire Stocks with Dividend Yields Above 4%

  • There are 37 primary-listed stocks on SGX with market cap above S$1 billion and dividend yields above 4%. These stocks averaged a 4.1% total return in the past year and a yield of 6.4%.
  • The five best performers year-to-date amongst the 37 are Lippo Malls Indonesia Retail Trust (+29.0%), Keppel DC REIT (+28.8%), Venture Corp (+23.9%), Keppel REIT (+20.5%) and Mapletree Commercial Trust (+17.7%). These five averaged a total return of 24.0%.
  • The five highest yielding stocks amongst the 37 are Frasers Hospitality Trust (9.6%), Lippo Malls Indonesia Retail Trust (9.2%), Hutchison Port Holdings Trust (8.9%), M1 (7.8%) and Far East Hospitality Trust (7.7%). These five stocks averaged a dividend yield of 8.6%.

Singapore Exchange (SGX) currently lists 96 primary-listed stocks which have a market capitalisation above S$1.0 billion. Among them, 37 stocks have a dividend yield above 4%, higher than the Straits Times Index’s (STI) yield of 3.8%.

Of the 37, more than 60% are in the Real Estate industry and 22 are Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). Also within the 37, 11 are members of the STI and 22 are components of the FTSE ST Mid Cap Index. The 37 stocks averaged a 4.1% total return in the past year and yield of 6.4%.

 

In the year-to-date, the five best performers amongst the 37 are Lippo Malls Indonesia Retail Trust (+29.0%), Keppel DC REIT (+28.8%), Venture Corp (+23.9%), Keppel REIT (+20.5%) and Mapletree Commercial Trust (+17.7%). These five averaged a total return of 24.0%.

Frasers Hospitality Trust operates as a hotel and serviced residence trust. Its portfolio consists of 12 hospitality properties comprising 6 hotels and 6 serviced residences with a total of 1,928 hotel rooms and 842 serviced residence units located in Singapore, Australia, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Malaysia. Lippo Malls Indonesia Retail Trust 

 

Lippo Malls Indonesia Retail Trust is a real estate investment trust sponsored by Pt. Lippo Karawaci Tbk, Investment Arm. The fund is managed by Lippo-Mapletree Indonesia Retail Trust Management Ltd. The fund engages in owning and investing in real estate. It primarily invests in retail and retail-related purposes. The fund was formerly known as Lippo-Mapletree Indonesia Retail Trust. Lippo Malls Indonesia Retail Trust was formed on August 8, 2007 and is domiciled in Singapore.

 

Hutchison Port Holdings Trust 

 

Hutchison Port Holdings Trust invests in, develops, operates, and manages deep-water container ports in Guangdong Province of the People’s Republic of China, as well as in Hong Kong and Macau. It owns interests in four deep-water container ports located in Kwai Tsing, Hong Kong; and Shenzhen, China. The company’s terminals operate 32 container berths across 543 hectares of land, with a combined throughput of approximately 23.9 million twenty-foot equivalent units. It also invests in other types of port assets, including river ports, as well as undertakes certain port ancillary services, which consist of trucking, feedering, freight forwarding, supply chain management, warehousing, and distribution services. The company was incorporated in 2011 and is based in Singapore.

 

M1

 

M1 Limited, together with its subsidiaries, provides mobile and fixed communications services in Singapore. It offers various voice, data, and value-added postpaid and prepaid mobile services on 4G/long term evolution advanced, 3G/high speed packet access, and 2G mobile networks; and wireless broadband services. In addition, it offers various broadband service plans, including fixed voice and other value-added services for residential homes; and a suite of mobile and fixed services, including connectivity solutions, managed services, cloud solutions, data center services, and other enterprise solutions for corporate customers. It serves approximately 2 million customers.

 

Far East Hospitality Trust 

 

Far East Hospitality Trust is a real estate investment trust. It owns and operates hotels and serviced residences, its portfolio includes 12 properties, comprising 8 hotels and 4 serviced residences. Far East Hospitality Trust was launched in 2012, and is based in Singapore.

He previously held lead broking and strategist roles across the Asia Pacific offices of a large international futures broker. Outside of his 15 year career in the financial markets he has also served as the Treasury Adviser to the Leader of the Queensland Liberal Party in Queensland Parliament.

Following High School in Hong Kong, he attended University of Queensland, receiving a Bachelors and Master's degree in Economics, the latter extending into deferred PhD work after receiving the highest grading for first-mover research and modelling conducted on the Shanghai economy.

Mr Howie's other notable achievements include receiving two Hong Kong Securities Institute Outstanding Achievers awards for the 2005 year.
